Youth Education
Dolly Parton Imagination Library ~ Bozeman Rotarians are passionate about early literacy for youth in our community! One of our Rotary past presidents, Cindy Sease, was pivotal in introducing the renowned Dolly Parton Imagination Library to Bozeman. She engaged in community coalitions with the HRDC and private donors to ensure a sustainable program to deliver books to our children. The visionary program gifts books, free of charge, to children from birth to age five. These books are shipped directly to each individual child to foster a love of reading. To learn more about this program, check out the Dolly Parton Imagination Library website.
Third Grade Dictionaries ~ Every.Single.3rd.Grader. in the Gallatin Valley gets a free dictionary that our Club purchases and hands out kids. Sometimes these are the first books that a third grader owns themselves. The books include ordinary dictionary entries plus an almanac section with important academic resources. We watch and delight as these young people marvel at such things like the world's longest word, the U.S. Constitution, and reading sign language.
Middle School Merit Awards ~ Guess what, your middle school teacher thinks you're special! That is the message delivered to so many middle schoolers in the Bozeman school district every year. Our club recognizes that these young leaders will grow and develop into our very own peers some day. We take time to celebrate their accomplishments, recognize the importance of academics, and encourage our youth to keep reaching for the stars!
